Sunday, October 2nd, 2033: Oakland Right Fielder Hurt
The Oakland Athletics will lose the services of right fielder Mike Holland after he sustained a fractured skull while being hit by a pitch in today's game against the Seattle Mariners. When asked about the injury, he took a philosophical approach. "Worse things can happen in life," Holland said. "The key now is to stay positive." His trainer said he is expected to be sidelined for the next 7-8 months.

A look at his 2033 stats shows Holland with a .299 average, 40 home runs, 135 RBIs and 128 runs scored. He has played in 154 games.

Tuesday, September 13th, 2033: Super Swinger! Rangel Slams 5 Hits!
It was a good day for the Oakland Athletics as they dumped the Cleveland Indians 15-9 at Jacobs Field. Despite the loss it was a remarkable day for Indians Tomás Rangel, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage.

The Cleveland first baseman told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I have mixed emotions about this game. Getting 5 hits is really something special, but losing the ballgame spoils it to a certain extent. It's sort of like the feeling you get when your mother-in-law drive over a cliff in your new sports car."

For his outstanding performance Rangel will get his name in the record book.

Quizzed by the press corps about his personal hitting theories, he responded, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm 'not dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple...try not to over-think it. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then in a split second decide to try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."

T. Rangel walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off C. Edwards Jr in the 9th.

In 144 games this year Rangel has posted a .301 average and put up these numbers: 9 home runs, 79 RBIs and 95 runs scored.

Saturday, September 10th, 2033: Albies Batters Montreal for 5 Hits
Ozzie Albies had an answer for everything the Montreal Expos threw him today in the Oakland 15-5 triumph at Oakland Coliseum. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.

The Oakland second baseman went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.

Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Albies said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."

O. Albies hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off I. Martinon in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off J. Veeck in the 9th.

This season in 136 games, Albies has hit at a .278 clip with 152 hits, 30 home runs, 100 RBIs and 86 runs scored.
