The American made it official today: Jeffery McClain is the Player of the Week.
He really sparkled on the diamond this week with a .421 average to take home the trophy. The Minnesota catcher went 8-19, drove in 10 runs, scored 7 times and hit 5 home runs.
Presently McClain is batting .268 with 29 home runs and 79 RBIs. He has played in 134 games and scored 85 times.

 | Friday, September 9th, 2033: 5 Hits for Blue Jays Palácios
Júlio Palácios really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Skydome, the Toronto right fielder blistered the Minnesota Twins for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 10-7 victory.
"Palácios was too tough to get out today," the Twins skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
J. Palácios singled in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Velasco in the 8th.

Minnesota center fielder Brian Anderson has a pinched nerve, suffered while colliding with a player at a base. He's expected to be out for 2 weeks.
