 | Tuesday, July 2nd, 2030: Hampton Raps 300-th Roundtripper At Oakland Coliseum Joe Hampton smashed his 300th career home run in a game against San Francisco today. The 32-year-old left fielder had a hand in the Oakland Athletics 4-3 victory with 1 home run and 1 run batted in. For the day he went 2 hits-5 at-bats. At the press conference after the game, Hampton downplayed his achievement. "Obviously, I've hit 300 home runs so I belong in that 300 Club. But when you talk about the other guys that have done it, I'm not as good as they were. Those guys were the greatest of all time. I've just been able to scrape together some good years and stayed healthy and gotten there." Looking at his all-time stats, Hampton has a lifetime .281 average with 1352 hits, 285 doubles, 26 triples, 300 home runs and 910 RBIs. To date he has scored 909 runs, walked 486 times and stolen 11 bases. |
